What is Cordyceps?

Chinese cordyceps or Chinese mace (Cordyceps sinensis) is a species of parasitic fungus. Unlike other beneficial Asian mushrooms, it does not grow on trees, but occurs in the ground. Its main medium is the moth larvae found there, which the clubfly first attacks, occupies and kills, and then draws from them the nutrients needed for development.

Cordyceps is naturally found in the high mountains of Nepal and Tibet. Harsh climatic conditions and a clean environment. It’s known from Asian traditional medicine dates back hundreds of years.

The main known ingredients of the mushroom are: cordyceps acid, adenosine,  cordycepin and polysaccharides.
