Description

Omega-3 acids

Omega-3 acids  are a natural building material for the body. They have a wide range of properties: they help reduce triglycerides, have anti-inflammatory properties, affect the better functioning of neuronal cell membranes in the brain, and support proper skin hydration.

Since the body cannot produce them on its own, they must be obtained from the diet.

Essential fatty acids

The three most important types are ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). ALA is found primarily in plants and is the most common omega-3 available in the diet.

Food sources of EPA and DHA are very limited.

These acids are mainly found in the fat of fish and marine animals. They contribute to the proper functioning of the heart, while DHA itself is also responsible for the proper functioning of the brain and vision.

  • EPA is found mainly in animal products, such as oily fish and fish oil extracted from them. It is also contained in some microalgae.
  • DHA is the most important omega-3 fatty acid in the body. It is a key structural component of the brain, retina, and many other parts of the body. Like EPA, it is found primarily in animal products, such as oily fish and fish oil, as well as grass-fed meat, eggs, and dairy.

Omega 3 preparation is standardized to 35% EPA and 25% DHA.

Additional antioxidants

Vitamin E  is an antioxidant, meaning it helps protect cells from oxidative damage. This essential nutrient occurs naturally in many foods.

Free radicals are created by normal body processes. They cause damage that shortens the life of your cells. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce free radicals and slow the aging process of cells.
