Description

Combination of omega 3 acids with vitamin D3

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are a natural building block for the body. They have a wide range of properties, and because the body cannot produce them on its own, they must be obtained from the diet 1 . The three most important types are ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). ALA is found mainly in plants and is the most common omega-3 available in the diet 2 .

Food sources of EPA and DHA are very limited.

These acids are mainly found in the fat of fish and marine animals. They contribute to the proper functioning of the heart, while DHA itself is also responsible for the proper functioning of the brain and vision 3 .

  • EPA is found mainly in animal products, such as oily fish and fish oil extracted from them. It is also contained in some microalgae 4 .
  • DHA is the most important omega-3 fatty acid in the body. It is a key structural component of the brain, retina, and many other parts of the body 3 .
  • EPA and DHA, which belong to omega-3 acids, contribute to the proper functioning of the heart (a beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 ml of EPA and DHA).

Vitamin of the sun

Vitamin D3 is the supplemental equivalent of vitamin D, which is produced by the skin and whose levels in the body depend on daily exposure to sunlight. Getting enough vitamin D is important for the proper growth and development of bones and teeth, as well as for improving the functioning of the immune system 5 .

The amount of vitamin D produced by the skin depends on many factors, including the time of day, season, latitude, and skin pigmentation. Depending on where you live and your lifestyle, your body’s production of vitamin D may decrease or disappear completely during the winter months 6 .
